How to Make a Short Film

While it might seem difficult to think of a fresh take on the experimental film, at least you won’t have to worry about whether or not your film is a commercial success. An experimental, or avant-garde, film differs in its techniques and practices from mainstream or commercial films, so the point is to be original and to stimulate your audience by showing them the world in unexpected ways.

Family mealtime is an excellent opportunity for strengthening family relationships. With today’s busy lifestyles and hectic schedules, it is easy for parents to overlook the importance of having meals together as a family on a regular basis.

Studies show the more often a child eats with the family, the less likely that child is to someday smoke, drink, or use illegal drugs. Teens who have regular family meals are less likely to get into fights, get suspended from school, have sex, or have suicidal thoughts.

Instead, children who have frequent family meals are more likely to do better in school, develop positive eating habits, and adopt healthy behavior. Family meals promote bonding and family interaction. They can help children improve their self-esteem and develop social skills that can last a lifetime.

Family mealtime can be used as an opportunity for parents and children to discover and carry out important aspects of a healthy lifestyle.

CRCAC plans 2010 Media Fest

Arts, culture, and heritage are integral to society, playing a major role in the development of a community. The Campbell River Community Arts Council (CRCAC) has been a vital force in Campbell River since 1970. Since then the Arts Council has initiated a number of community partnerships aimed at fostering creative, sustainable programming. Currently our programs include: Bursary Program, Art and Health Initiative, Youth Image Program, Banner Project, Writer’s Series and the New Media Festival. The Arts Council consists of individual members, member groups, a volunteer Board that oversees the Council’s operations, and a permanent part-time Executive Director and part-time Office Manager.
